I'm getting married next year I designed and I'm making my own wedding dress,Since this is both of our second wedding we want to be a little untraditional. If you think about it,when your looking for a wedding dress in a differant color then white, off white or ivory and maybe black all you can find is prom dresses.your wedding should be exactly what you want. And for the untraditional bride I think there should be beautiful wedding gowns in shades from the lightest pink to the darkest blue what do you think?
I have seen 1st-time brides use color in their dress.
Second marriages use to be done quitely & without much a-do. But not anymore! You have lost love and found it again. I think that calls for a celebration!
Do the wedding however you want, in whatever color you want.
It is advised that a 2nd-time bride not wear a veil. I don't necessarily go along with this, but I do think the veil covering the face should be reserved for the 1st-time bride. But that's just my opinion.
With you sewing your dress, you have sooooo many options. Have you chosen a design/pattern yet? (email me!) I made my first wedding dress, but then, there were only about 3 wedding dress patterns then.
Good luck with your planning & Congratulations!

Whether you are in the midst of wedding planning now, or were happily wedded years ago, what tips, ideas or advice can you share with other brides? What do you wish you had done differently, or what are you glad you did? What unique, personal touches did you include in your own wedding? Do you have any cool ideas on: party favors, wedding party gifts, bridesmaids attire, invitations/programs, child attendants, showers/bachelor(ette) parties, the ceremony/vows/etc, wedding cake, photography/videography, the honeymoon? (These are just 'prompts' to spark your memory - you don't have to answer them all!!) I am finishing my wedding planner/workbook and would like to include tips from real-life brides. Your input and ideas would be a huge help!!
First off, congratulations on your upcoming marriage! May you have a healthy, happy union.
After being very happily married for 18+ years, my advise is this: You don't want the wedding to overshadow the marriage. A wedding is just for 1 day, but your marriage should last your lifetime. Rule number 1: Don't sweat the small stuff. Rule number 2: It's all small stuff. Don't get so wrapped up in the knitty gritty of wedding planning that you forget the most important reason which is why you're there in the first place. Good luck and best wishes to you both!

I am planning on a fall outdoor wedding with a gazebo. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can make it look gorgeous?
Will it be chilly for your guests?? You need to take that into consideration… If so, you may want to rent those outdoor propane heaters…
How about a garland of leaves surrounding the arched area where you will stand. You can find them already assembled (like a vine) from JoAnn's or Michael's and weave them together. The colors would be beautiful framing you…
A carpet of colored leaves (thrown by your flower girl) would be a unique and very "original" change from the white cloth runner that can really cost!!! Just practice with the flower girl so that she spreads the leaves evenly…
Have large baskets of real or paper (party supply place) leaves for guests to throw instead of rice or bubbles. It will look like it is raining in living colors!!
(I am into natural, eco-friendly celebrations, can you tell>)
